Her Final Hours – by Susan Grant

Susan Grant attended our StAnza Poetry Festival creative writing workshop last week.  Inspired by John Duncan’s “Mary Queen of Scots at Fotheringay”  she has kindly agreed to let us share her work.

Dramas of her life –

the violence, the intrigue,

turbulence , mistrust –

all behind her.

She sits, accepting, serene;

caresses her rosary beads

one last time.

Sure in her faith, she knows

in her end is her beginning.
